The curriculum supports learners to develop the vital skills and knowledge in line with their end goal and planned destination. As part of their weekly Tutorials session learners were supported to visit a Supported Living home, to enable them to make informed decisions about their future in relation to where they may like to live. Learners prepared a range of questions to ask during the visit. These included: Is there a possibility I can have my own living quarters as I prefer my own space? What activities do you do? What would I do for transport? Is there an opportunity I could be a fire officer or help with fire safety in the home? Would I still be able to access college or go to work whilst living in supported living? Supporting the learners to visit the home and ask a range of questions they deemed important, has provided them with an appropriate insight to support them to make an informed decision regarding where they would like to live in the future.
