Family Support

Our Family Support service has been designed to help alleviate some of the pressure that families face by providing community-based care for their loved ones.

Our support packages are tailored to the needs of the individual and their family, with referrals typically being made via the local authority.

Eligible families can access this service for their children (aged four upwards), young people and adults. So, whether you need support for a few hours (packages begin at four hours), or for several days during school holidays for example, our dedicated team are here to help.

With the support of Activity Support Assistants, the individuals in our care are able to develop crucial life skills and experience activities they otherwise may not have been able to. And the support is completely tailored to the interests and aspirations of each person, so while one individual may want to visit a local soft play, others may be supported to go swimming, cycling or shopping.

All of our staff have been subject to a rigorous safer recruitment procedure with safety checks being performed via enhanced DBS service. All staff are fully trained in safeguarding children and adults and work to ensure that the highest standard of care is provided at all times.

What our parents say…

Liam found morning’s very difficult due to difficulties transitioning from his house to the taxi. Family Support offered support via a 1:1 worker who implemented a visual timetable and a timer to support the transition. Liam is now able to get into his taxi much quicker and with less anxiety’ His Mum is able to help her 4-year-old get dressed.

  • What is Autism?

Autism is the word used to describe a lifelong difference in a person’s neurology. It’s very difficult to say exactly what ‘it’ is because it can’t be separated from the person.
