On the tenth day of Christmas your giving could help a child like Lisa’s have a home from home.

There can be few things more challenging for a parent than coming to the realisation that residential care may be what’s best for your child.

Here at the North East Autism Society we are profoundly aware of how significant a decision like this can be, and how much trust is placed in us when families opt to use our services.

With this is mind we’ve concentrated our efforts over the years to ensure both our children’s and adults homes not only feel homely but have staff who see residents as family.

Lisa’s son Harvey lives in a North East Autism Society children’s home.

She said:

If I’m honest I felt really selfish at first but the difference in Harvey is unbelievable. Having the right help and support, around the clock, has changed his life and I’ve come to realise that letting your child go to where they will have the best possible environment to thrive in, is the least selfish thing any parent can do.

“I’m so thankful for the staff at his home who genuinely treat him like family. To say this has transformed our lives is an understatement.”

Your giving this Christmas enables us to continually provide that home-from-home environment for children and adults across the North-east.
