Where are you from?

I'm originally from Sydney, Australia, but now live in Sunderland.

What is your role at Diversity NE?

Employment Services Manager.

What is your career background?

I worked in retail for 11 years, which started out as a part time job while studying but worked up to the position of manager and then store franchisee. I left retail to work for an IT services company selling IT installation and support services in Australia. I worked for the IT service company for 11 years doing various roles.

Briefly before coming to the UK I also worked for an employment services charity in Australia.

Can you share a career highlight?

Anytime someone gets a job is a highlight for me - especially when it’s a first job.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

When someone who has been overlooked or struggled to find and sustain work finds that match with a job that fits their skills and an employer that supports and appreciates them.

Why did you want to be involved with Diversity NE? 

I’m really passionate about the talented neurodiverse people out there who want to discover their perfect job.
