Working together to inspire, support, celebrate and equip autistic and neurodiverse people to fulfil their potential in life.

This week we have been celebrating Black History Month in Class 5.

We started the week with a food tasting activity. We looked at the packaging and tasted some Afro-Caribbean snacks. We used adjectives to describe the taste, smell and texture of the different foods.

We talked about the importance of different cultures being represented and looked at different fiction and non-fiction texts. We enjoyed finding out about different people, both past and present.

We used the internet and research skills to look at the Black Plaque Project, we gathered information about an individual in history and fed back to the group.

We then went on to look at the Artist Alma Thomas- we attempted to replicate her artistic style.
