Principal Kirsty Carr and Vice Principal Boris Ebbing hosted the event, which also marked the end of some of the pupils' time at the school in Newton Aycliffe. Students received certificates for the qualifications they had completed throughout the year, and - if comfortable - were called up on stage to receive them. A number of students were also lucky enough to receive one of the first-ever Aycliffe School awards, which recognised excellence in a number of areas: Personal development Academic achievement Preparing for adulthood Communication Learner of the Year Speaking at the event Kirsty praised the young people for their hard work and dedication throughout the year, as well as the staff for helping the pupils to reach their goals.
