Thornhill Park School is an independent specialist school based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear for pupils aged 4-19

Our mission is to work together inspiring, supporting, celebrating and equipping autistic and neurodiverse children, young people and adults.

Welcome return for Summer Fete

All the pupils and staff at Thornhill Park School were excited to welcome back our annual Summer Fete. There were lots of surprises in store, including:

Raffle
Tombola
Guess the name of the teddy
How many sweets in a jar
Cake sale

There were also many amazing products for sale that our pupils had made as part of their social enterprise activities, such as tie dye T-shirts, coasters, tie dye canvas and bespoke plant pots. At the end of the fete, the school held a talent show which was enjoyed by all.

A total of £514.45 was raised - a huge well done to all involved!

The Sunderland Minster café closed during the pandemic but is being reopened thanks to a partnership with the North East Autism Society (NEAS).
'Wonderland of opportunities’ for pupils as NEAS reopens Minster cafe

Pupils from Thornhill Park School will be working at the café when it reopens to the public from June 23.
Celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Pupils and staff celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a special garden party before the half term holidays.

The school recently benefitted from the installation of not one, but two new outdoor play areas for pupils to enjoy.
