Autism Acceptance Month

In 2022, we’re continuing our journey to acceptance

Since 2019 we’ve been campaigning for autism acceptance, working with autistic individuals, families, schools and businesses across the North-east in a bid to change the narrative on how people view and understand autism.

Four years ago we made an important shift and moved away from simply striving for awareness, pushing for autism acceptance instead. The support we’ve received along the way has been incredible but … we know that we’re not quite there yet

That is why this year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come, as well as how far we have left to go – and we want as many schools, businesses and individuals as possible to get involved and help us to make Autism Acceptance Month bigger and better than anything we’ve done before.

Autism is the word used to describe a lifelong difference in a person’s neurology. It’s very difficult to say exactly what ‘it’ is because it can’t be separated from the person.
