Class Two

Drama

This week we have looked at changing and experimenting with how the body can  change shape to produce different emotions and shapes. We concentrated on shape and how we can move our body to represent different animals.

We read the book Aio who used his body expression to shape different animals and does a rain dance to help the animals in Africa. We spoke about Aio and how he is wearing a mask with the same facial expression, but he is trying to move his body in different ways to portray a different animal. The children enjoyed making masks they used different media such as straw, fabric, paint, and chalk.

Science

In science we are looking at Animals and humans and concentrating on ensuring we have the right types of nutrients to help our bodies.

Today we made a healthy plate of food and labelled each food groups.

The children enjoyed using different materials to create their healthy balanced plate. They used clay, sponges, card, cloths, and paint.

Whilst we were making the plates, we spoke about the nutrients that were in our favourite food and how they can help our bodies to grow.

Roald Dahl Day

The children read some of Georges marvellous medicine. They really enjoyed making their own medicine. They smelt some scented oils, shampoo, and moisturisers.

They enjoyed feeling different textures of liquids before adding it to their medicines. The children added paint to give their medicine some colour. In English they wrote up their instructions and produced labels to ensure their medicines are sellable!

Playground

The children have really enjoyed the playground since coming back to school! Sophia thoroughly enjoyed working on her netball aim! Katie loved hanging upside down!

Geography

In Geography, the children have been looking at maps. One child made a map of the classroom on Minecraft!
