Thornbeck College believes in listening to learners' views and offers a variety of opportunities for them to have direct involvement in assessing and shaping their own learning experience in college. Learners are frequently involved in providing feedback to the senior leadership team on all aspects of the college. Leaders have incorporated the views of learners into all aspects of its work, including the development of the curriculum and the appointment of staff.
Student Council members are elected through a democratic process on an annual basis. Student Council Representatives listen to and carry forward the ideas of peers in termly meetings with the Senior Leadership Team. The Student Council also has involvement with community projects, raising the profile of Thornbeck College and Learner Voice.
