Thornhill Park School

Thornhill Park School is an independent specialist school based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear for pupils aged 4-19

Our mission is to work together inspiring, supporting, celebrating and equipping autistic and neurodiverse children, young people and adults.

Saying no to bullying

Class 1 staff wore odd socks to school on Monday 13th November to begin anti-bullying week.

Pupils took part in activities to raise awareness of bullying and kindness. We watched Andy and The Odd Socks official 2023 video and learned who we could speak to.

We created posters about safe people, made our own odd socks and made friendship sun catchers for our windows.

Rainbow and Comet classes play along to songs using a range of instruments and tapping sticks.
Moon class design t-shirts and robots

Moon class enjoy a creative week making their own coloured t-shirts and designing robots in IT.
Beach surprise for litter pickers

When pupils went to the beach as part of their science project, they were delighted to be greeted by the sight of dolphins out to sea.
Recipes for success

Sun class create their own recipes to follow in cookery lessons and have created some delicious dishes.
Scavenger hunt for English

Star Class go on a scavenger hunt around school to develop their reading and listening skills.
