Thornhill Park School is an independent specialist school based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear for pupils aged 4-19

Our mission is to work together inspiring, supporting, celebrating and equipping autistic and neurodiverse children, young people and adults.

Pupils go wild in Herrington Park

30 days wild and RSPB award

Children in Rainbow class and Comet class have been exploring local habitats in Herrington Country Park as part of their wilderness awards. They engaged in a minibeast hunt and a nature walk to identify different elements of nature.

Learning about the world

Comet and Rainbow classes at Thornhill Park School are learning about' All Around the World'. This week they have been exploring Europe and took part in a traditional Irish Stew line dance.

Rainbow and Comet classes play along to songs using a range of instruments and tapping sticks.

Moon class enjoy a creative week making their own coloured t-shirts and designing robots in IT.
Beach surprise for litter pickers

When pupils went to the beach as part of their science project, they were delighted to be greeted by the sight of dolphins out to sea.
Recipes for success

Sun class create their own recipes to follow in cookery lessons and have created some delicious dishes.
Scavenger hunt for English

Star Class go on a scavenger hunt around school to develop their reading and listening skills.
