Thornhill Park School

Thornhill Park School is an independent specialist school based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear for pupils aged 4-19

Our mission is to work together inspiring, supporting, celebrating and equipping autistic and neurodiverse children, young people and adults.

Paige started school last September and has been able to adapt to change of routine and structure.

In doing so, she has had the opportunity to access a wide range of facilities in the community and engage in a bespoke pathway in her education, whilst completing a NOCN Maths and English accredited learning course.

Since Paige’s placement has begun, she has been able access different areas of the community. Paige has been to feed the reindeer at the Richardson Garden Centre, and access the soft play and trampolines at the Tim Lamb Centre with peers.

She’s also been to Roker beach and shopping to Aldi. Paige has also enjoyed walks to Thompson Park, where she has enjoyed playing on the equipment and had a lot of fun in doing so! Paige said: ”I like Tim Lamb, I enjoyed jumping in the ball pit.”

Everyone is proud of what Paige has achieved in a short space of time and look forward to what she continues moving forward. Well done Paige!
