Fay Dunlop, aged 9 from Silksworth, Sunderland took on the Newcastle ‘6-Bridges Cycle Challenge’ and raised £176.00 for the Society.
The Newcastle 6 Bridges Cycle started from The Cycle Centre, Byker that is a cafe for cyclists. The route was 9.5 miles and passed over the Millennium Bridge in Newcastle, along the Riverside up to Scotswood Bridge then crossed over to the Metro Centre side and retuned back to Newcastle going under or over the 6 Newcastle bridges.

Faye completed the challenge with her father in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Faye’s mother Julie Dunlop is a Residential Home Manager for charity and wanted to raise money for the children she supports. Faye said; “I thought it would be nice to raise some money for the children my Mam works for so they can enjoy doing activities like I enjoy riding.”

Events Fundraiser for NEAS, Sally Squires said: “We can’t thank Faye enough for her support, it’s great to see young fundraisers enjoying themselves and getting involved in sponsored events that help raise funds and make a difference to the lives of families we support.”
