They say a picture speaks a thousand words which is exactly why we commissioned the incredible illustrator, Jonathan Raiseborough, to help us explain why language matters when it comes to how we speak about autism and autistic people.

During last year’s campaign someone said to us, ‘you know, I don’t live with autism. It’s not a dog in the kitchen that’s sometimes with me and sometimes not…’

That one comment sparked an idea that led to us commissioning autistic artist and illustrator Jonathan Raiseborough Illustration to graphically bring to life some of the debate around person-first vs identity-first language for autistic people.
