Latest News We've got some wheely big plans for our 40th year! FORTY North East Autism Society supporters will cycle a route tracing our infinity loop logo across the North of England, taking in the beautiful scenery of the Pennines, Lake District, and Northumberland National Park. Sophie Clarke, from our fundraising team, said: 2020 is a very special year for NEAS, because we’ll be celebrating 40 years since the charity was first founded to support autistic children and their families in the North-East. “fter the success of our inaugural sponsored bike ride last year, we wanted to do something even bigger and better for the anniversary, and we just loved the idea of tracing a massive 162-mile-long version of our logo across four counties, which we’re calling Ride Infinity. We adopted a golden infinity symbol in 2019 to support autistic campaigners and their drive to ‘Go for Gold’, as the symbol for neurodiversity and call for acceptance – not just awareness. Gold is the colour associated with success and achievement, a new take on how autism is viewed and celebrated within our region, and in our nation. The route will take riders two days to complete, and will begin and end at our headquarters in Chester-le-Street. They expect to stop overnight in Penrith. Sophie added: We’re so excited, and we’re looking to partner with North-East businesses to make the ride a runaway success. Sponsors will help us provide high-quality kit, supplies and support vehicles for our riders. In return, we’ll be proud to display their logo on our kit, website, social media, and celebrate them in all media coverage. North East Autism Society Corporate Partnerships create great opportunities for both our charity, and for the companies involved. They not only provide excellent PR opportunities, but also create a culture of philanthropy within organisations, and help businesses achieve their social responsibility goals. Together, we can achieve more.
