Annual awards ceremony celebrates the best of the region

Fiercely proud of where we have come from, it’s with great delight that we can announce that the North East Autism Society (NEAS) is one of the sponsors for this year’s Pride of Wearside Awards.

Held each year in the Stadium of Light, the night seeks to honour the amazing people of Sunderland and surrounding areas who make the North-east great.

John Phillipson, Chief Executive Officer of NEAS, said: “We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the passionate, caring, hard working people of Sunderland and surrounding areas who got behind our founding parents, helping them raise vital funds to purchase our first school.

“With that in mind we are delighted to be one of the organisations getting behind this amazing night and initiative.”

This year’s Sunderland Echo-run competition also has backing from headline sponsor BGL, partner sponsors Utility Alliance and Gentoo, and category sponsors Marelli and Wearside Audi.

Categories include Community Group of the Year, Student of the Year, Green Champion of the Year, Child of Courage, Child of Achievement, Young Voice of Wearside, Fundraiser of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Sporting Achievement of the Year and Community Champion Award.

To nominate just send your name, address and telephone number, plus your email address, if applicable, remembering to include the category that you are putting your nominated cause into.
