Pupils from Aycliffe School at the North East Centre for Autism, Newton Aycliffe and Thornhill Park School in Sunderland enjoyed the end of term by hosting a range of summer events.

Both schools organised Summer Fete's raising over £500. The fetes are a fantastic opportunity for the learners to showcase their work and to sell products they have produced throughout the school term.

Textile Products

There was a wide range of products on sale including arts and craft, woodwork, floristry, up-cycled furniture and textiles. Some learners had been busy making homemade jam, fudge, cakes and biscuits to sell.

Karen Ferguson, Head Teacher from Aycliffe School said; “We had a fantastic day and it was lovely for parents and families to join together to celebrate the end of term and the achievements of all the learners. A big thank you to everyone who supported us.”
