Our new short break service has opened that will specialise in supporting people with autism and learning disabilities.
The service is available for young people and adults aged sixteen years and over who have an assessed need for respite.

The service will be provided at our New Warlands Farm site in Holmside, Edmondsley, approximately 7 miles from the centre of Durham. The North East Autism Society has specialist skills to support people with autism and can also support people with learning disabilities.

The service will provide short breaks on a quiet farm setting in 2 wooden lodges, which have been decorated and fitted out to a high standard. One of the lodges has a ceiling track hoist fitted for people with physical disabilities. There are plans to develop the site to provide nature trails and make other outdoor activities available.
