Walk for Acceptance 2024

We're delighted to announce that our Walk for Acceptance is returning again in 2024! We'll be back at Herrington Country Park on Friday 30th August as we continue our Journey to Acceptance, and we'd love for you to join us.

Back by popular demand for another year, we’re looking forward to celebrating with you all again for one of our most popular fundraising events of the year.

How to sign up

To take part, please complete the form at the bottom of this page to register your details. Entry costs are just £5 per adult and under-18s go free. 

Your registration fee includes:

• An activity booklet with fun ideas for your family to do on your walk
• Entry into our draw to win a brilliant prize
• A finisher's certificate
• Support materials to share on social media to let everyone know you're joining our Journey for Acceptance!

Sponsorship

You can raise sponsorship for your walk by creating an online JustGiving fundraising page, downloading a sponsorship form to fill in, or both.

On the Day

1. Registration will be open from 10:00 - 10:45 in front of the Amphitheatre at the park. Car parking is available and there will be signage and marshals directing you to the right place.

2. The walk starts at 11:00 and will take you round one lap of the boating lake in the park. When you get back, all children will receive a certificate and a special treat for finishing!

3. Take some photos and videos of you out on your walk and share them on your own social media platforms and tag @NEAutismSociety on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Remember to use the hashtags #WalkforAcceptance and #AutismAcceptance
