Thornhill Park School is an independent specialist school based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear for pupils aged 4-19

Our mission is to work together inspiring, supporting, celebrating and equipping autistic and neurodiverse children, young people and adults.

Children in Need

Pupils and staff at Emsworth have raised a whopping £238 for Children in Need this week!

Kiera, Josh and Aaron visited South Shields Marine Park to cheer on BBC Newcastle presenter Matt Bailey as he took part in The Great North Pudalo Challenge for Children in Need 2023. They clapped and cheered as Matt pedaled past, and wished him a huge, good luck as he went by!

We have worn Pudsey bear clothing, spotty clothing and even pyjamas in school, along with hosting a cake sale, raffle and games such as pin the tail on Pudsey. Thank you to all our pupils, their families and carers for supporting us.

Thornhill Park pupil Ben enjoys a day working at two Newcastle hotels to get an insight into careers in hospitality.
Making music

Rainbow and Comet classes play along to songs using a range of instruments and tapping sticks.
Moon class design t-shirts and robots

Moon class enjoy a creative week making their own coloured t-shirts and designing robots in IT.
Beach surprise for litter pickers

When pupils went to the beach as part of their science project, they were delighted to be greeted by the sight of dolphins out to sea.
Recipes for success

Sun class create their own recipes to follow in cookery lessons and have created some delicious dishes.
Scavenger hunt for English

Star Class go on a scavenger hunt around school to develop their reading and listening skills.
