KEEP an eye out for Pawsum and the North East Autism Society team on Monday, 2 October if you’re out and about in Newcastle.

For thanks to an invitation from Intu Eldon Square we will be spending the day in the heart of the mall, promoting our work and taking part in Autism Hour.

The nationwide campaign for shops and retail environments to have a set time where lighting and background noise is adjusted to be less overwhelming for some people with autism, is being welcomed by Intu.

We were asked to go along as the North-east’s leading autism service provider.

Sophie Clarke from NEAS’ events team said:

We’re thrilled to be invited into Eldon Square. It’s a great opportunity for us to raise awareness of autism but also to signpost people to our services.

We’re especially pleased to be supporting Autism Hour too. We’ve campaigned for some years now for businesses to make reasonable adjustments to support children, young people and adults with autism so it’s incredible to know Intu are taking steps to support families with autism in the North-east.

Come along and say hi.

The NEAS team, accompanied by Pawsum the Panda will be in Eldon Square from 9am until 4pm. For information or to have a selfie with Pawsum look out for blue North East Autism Society t-shirts.
