For more than 40 years, the North East Autism Society has supported autistic and neurodivergent children, young people and adults across the region. While we pride ourselves on the excellent, person-centred support and services we offer, we recognise that the work we do wouldn’t be possible without our incredible team of dedicated employees.

Transfer your skills to a career with NEAS

We value the transferrable skills that applicants can bring to the Society and recognise the strength in a diverse workforce. So, whether you’ve worked in care or education previously, or your experience lies in another sector, we’re here to help you build a successful career with NEAS.

As an organisation, we are passionate about retaining talent and many of our current employees have worked their way up the ranks - be it from teaching assistant to school principal, or support worker to managing one of our residential homes. In fact, our Director of Education Chris Dempster joined the Society as a classroom assistant in 1990.

The value that we place on our employees is also reflected in the internationally recognised accreditations we are proud to hold, such as Investors in People Gold, Disability Confident Leader and Mindful Employer.

As a new starter you'll benefit from our comprehensive induction week, which will equip you with all of the knowledge and information you need to start your role confidently. You'll also work towards your Level 2 Understanding Autism certificate and have access to our training portal to further enhance your skills.

By joining team NEAS we'll be on hand to support you every step of the way.
