Great North Run 2027
The crown jewel in the North East’s sporting calendar, the World’s Greatest Half Marathon will roll back into town again and you can secure your place in Team NEAS now for the 2027 race, which will take place on Sunday 12 September.
Join us in Newcastle alongside over 60,000 other runners to follow the 13.1 mile iconic route to finish along the sea front in South Shields.
The distance may seem daunting, but the carnival atmosphere on the day more than makes up for it. With thousands of people lining the streets to cheer on the runners, people of all abilities are encouraged to come and drink in the famous Tyneside atmosphere. You don’t need to be a future Olympian to enter – but you will need to be someone who loves a challenge and to make memories.
How to sign up
You can sign up to the event via one of North East Autism Society’s charity tokens, which will guarantee you a place on the start line. These tokens cost £50 per person and you will be asked to raise £400 in sponsorship. You’ll receive a free Autism Acceptance running vest to wear on the day, a participant’s pack filled with training, nutrition and fundraising advice and help and support from a dedicated member of the fundraising team.
To join Team NEAS via this method, please fill out your details in the “Book a Place” button, complete your payment and a member of the fundraising team will be in touch in due course. Please note, this only confirms your place with North East Autism Society – you will then receive an email from the Great Run Company containing a link to redeem your token and complete your registration for the race once we have received our allocation of charity tokens, usually in January.

If you are successful in the general entry ballot this year, or are a Great North Run member, you can still join Team NEAS and support autistic people and their families across the North East! Simply fill out the form below to let us know and we’ll welcome you onto the team. You’ll get a running vest, participant pack and support through your journey to the start line, the same as all of our runners. There’s also no sponsorship target for you to reach, please just raise as much as you can!
