Autism Myths & Misconceptions
Tackling common myths and misconceptions
As part of Autism Acceptance Month, we spoke to Katie and Lindi, parents of neurodivergent children, about some of society’s common autism myths and misconceptions.
We discuss masking, parenting, empathy, tools for regulation, ‘high’ and ‘low’ functioning, and the prevailing fallacy that autism needs to be cured.
Massive thank you to Katie and Lindi for opening up and to Kerrie, our Family Development Manager, for chairing these important discussions.
