Great North Run 2024

The crown jewel in the North East's sporting calendar, the World's Greatest Half Marathon will roll back into town after an amazing 2023 event, and you can secure your place in Team NEAS now for the 2024 race, which will take place on Sunday 8 September.

Join us in Newcastle alongside over 57,000 other runners to follow the 13.1 mile iconic route to finish along the sea front in South Shields.

The distance may seem daunting, but the carnival atmosphere on the day more than makes up for it. With thousands of people lining the streets to cheer on the runners, people of all abilities are encouraged to come and drink in the famous Tyneside atmosphere. You don’t need to be a future Olympian to enter – but you will need to be someone who loves a challenge and to make memories.

How to sign up

You can sign up to the event via one of North East Autism Society's charity tokens, which will guarantee you a place on the start line (** we are currently operating a waiting list for these places - please see bottom of the page for more information**). These tokens cost £50 per person and you will be asked to raise £400 in sponsorship. You'll receive a free Autism Acceptance running vest to wear on the day, a participant's pack filled with training, nutrition and fundraising advice and help and support from a dedicated member of the fundraising team.

To join Team NEAS via this method, please fill out your details in the "Book a Place" section below, complete your payment and a member of the fundraising team will be in touch in due course. Please note, this only confirms your place with North East Autism Society - you will then receive an email from the Great Run Company containing a link to redeem your token and complete your registration for the race.

Ballot Places

The general entry ballot for the Great North Run is now closed. If you have been successful in securing your own place in the run via the ballot, you can still join Team NEAS - simply click the button below, fill the form out and we'll welcome you aboard! You'll receive all the same perks as our charity token runners, including running vest and training pack, and there will be no sponsorship target for you to aim for - please just raise what you can!

Time to train!

Whether you are a seasoned runner or are using this as your ‘new year new you’ challenge, we want to support you. We will be sending you regular help and training to get you moving in the right direction ahead of the race itself.

We are currently sold out of places for the 2024 Great North Run. We are looking to source more entries to this event, which we hope to receive in spring/summer 2024. You can join the waiting list for these places by registering below - if we are unable to offer a place to you in this year's event, you will be offered either a full refund, or a guaranteed place on our team in 2025.
