Pathway to Continuing Education / Employment

Our Education and/or Employment Pathway is an individualised programme of study for post-14 learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). All learners are assessed on an individual basis and matched to a personalised pathway which is best placed to meet their needs.

The Educational  and/or Employment Pathway (Post-14) is designed to support learners as they progress through to their next stages of education or employment.  A bespoke programme is developed around pupils’ EHCP outcomes, which acknowledges their current skills, knowledge and required support needs, to succeed in the next stages of education and life.  The programme gives learners the opportunity to explore and experience activities, linking to both further education and employment. Enabling learners to make informed decisions, when navigating their journey towards their long-term destination.

The pathway intentions are to encourage the development of:

  • Functional Skills English
  • Functional Skills Mathematics
  • Functional Skills ICT
  • Science
  • Preparing for adulthood:
      • Education/Employment
      • Independent Living
      • Community Inclusion
