Red class have had a busy and exciting time taking part in a range of activities!
It’s been an amazing first week back for yellow class at Mackenzie Thorpe Centre.
The world renowned artist and NEAS patron praised the Mackenzie Thorpe Centre during a visit to the Middlesbrough school.
During our visit to the farm, Alex had a wonderful time exploring the outdoor environment, especially enjoying playing in the sand, where they used buckets and spades to build and create together.
As part of their community inclusion work, Yellow Class have been exploring the forest environment, discovering nature and their surroundings, and have created a beautiful nature collage inspired by their experiences.
Yellow Class have been having lots of fun putting their decorating skills to good use while supporting Red Nose Day. The children in Yellow Class have been enjoying their weekly visits from the therapy dogs.
Purple class have been taking part in ‘Global Recycling Day’ and their ‘Don’t Think Waste. Think Opportunity!’ slogan.
Orange Class have been really excited about Science this term. This half term they are carrying out lots of experiments in preparation for British Science Week.
This term we welcomed Peter Barron, a patron of North East Autism Society into school during National Storytelling week. As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, learners at Mackenzie Thorpe Centre took part in a calming and mindful yoga session.
The learners in purple class have been horse riding.
Orange class take their learning out and about, getting practical experience of managing a shopping budget, staying healthy, and getting along together.
Blue class start half term by learning about animals that live in the snow, practicing their balancing and building skills, and exploring addition and subtraction.
Learners welcome parents and carers to their enterprise event, displaying crafts and Christmas goods for sale.
