Children's Mental Health Week - Yoga and Author Visit

Yoga

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, learners at Mackenzie Thorpe Centre took part in a calming and mindful yoga session. Through gentle movement, breathing, and moments of stillness, the children developed important skills such as focus, balance, coordination, and self-regulation. The session also encouraged relaxation and emotional wellbeing, helping learners to recognise the importance of taking time to slow down and look after their minds and bodies. It was a peaceful and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Author Visit

This term we welcomed Peter Barron, a patron of North East Autism Society into school during National Story Telling week. Learners listened to Peter read one of his books and participated in a range of sensory activities linking to the story. We thank Peter for his kindness and the opportunity he allowed for our learners.
