Learning about the emergency services

As part of independent living skills in term 2 the curriculum supported learners to increase their knowledge and understanding of emergency services. Learners completed a range of tasks and activities including:

• What emergency services do
• What uniform/ equipment different emergency services use
• Why the role of the emergency services is important to keep us safe
• Visited a police station
• Visited a fire station
• Attended an emergency services workshop delivered by local PCSO Kipling

Supporting learners to increase their knowledge of emergency services has supported the development of their independent living and personal safety skills.
