To link their studies of extreme Earth, where pupils have been exploring global weather phenomena such as floods and droughts, pupils engaged in a practical science experiment which explored water pollution and the build up of materials which don’t degrade in water.

To achieve this, pupils placed a range of materials in water in a bottle and simulated the effects of a current and water flow.

To expand their knowledge, after recording their results, pupils changes the variable of how long they shook the bottles to see if any material broke down over an extended period of time.
