As part of Youth Skills Day, learners took part in Thornbeck’s Dragon’s Den, an enterprise challenge that encouraged learners to develop their creativity, communication and teamwork skills.

Spring Market
Learners at Thornbeck College recently demonstrated their creativity, teamwork, and customer service skills by planning and facilitating a vibrant Spring Market for parents and carers. The event provided an opportunity for learners from across all vocational areas to work together and showcase the products they had designed and created.
In preparation for the market, learners were actively involved in every stage of the process, including planning the layout, producing promotional materials, pricing items, and organising stock. They created a wide range of handmade products, such as crafts, baked goods, seasonal decorations, and gifts, highlighting the diverse skills developed within their vocational programmes.
On the day of the event, learners confidently managed stalls, welcomed visitors, handled transactions, and provided information about their products. Each vocational area contributed to the success of the market, with learners demonstrating independence, communication, and teamwork
