Kiera's fundraising journey

Kiera decided that she wanted to do some fundraising to raise money for the Teenage and Young Adult cancer ward in Newcastle Freeman Hospital. Kiera understood by raising money for the ward that the money would go straight to help the patients and not be distributed anywhere else.

Kiera came up with a plan to walk a mile every day for a month.

Kiera was able to raise £250 and went along to the hospital where she met the staff on the ward, had a look at the facilities the patients use whilst receiving their treatment.

One of the nurses explained to Kiera exactly where the money would go, she said that it will treat the patients to have day trips and do activities they wouldn’t normally be able to do with their family and friends. And will help buy anything that is needed for the ward!

Kiera was very proud of herself and her achievements, along with the staff for her amazing effort! Well done Kiera.
