Thornhill Park School

Thornhill Park School is an independent specialist school based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear for pupils aged 4-19

Our mission is to work together inspiring, supporting, celebrating and equipping autistic and neurodiverse children, young people and adults.

Our young people at Thornhill Park School recently developed their understanding and awareness of first aid, with the help of NEAS's training team.

First aid is a valuable life skill which helps individuals become more aware of how to keep themselves and others safe. Pupils attended a first aid session with a member of our Learning and Development team, building upon their skills, knowledge and understanding in relation to first aid.

A number of our pupils enjoyed looking at and exploring the first aid resources whilst other pupils enjoyed taking part and completing hands-on practical activities.

Activities included: exploring first aid boxes and equipment, putting on a bandage, the purpose of CPR, the recovery position, the purpose of defibrillators and when one might be used, and choking. A number of our young people also successfully completed the accredited basic first aid qualification.
