Thornhill Park School

Thornhill Park School is an independent specialist school based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear for pupils aged 4-19

Our mission is to work together inspiring, supporting, celebrating and equipping autistic and neurodiverse children, young people and adults.

Ahead of half term, pupils at Thornhill Park School prepared for Halloween.

Pupils made scarecrows, crafted spooky witches, bats and cats, got creative with carving pumpkins, bought different decorations as part of their travel training and community inclusion, baked and decorated cakes!

To get the excitement going, a Ghostbusters car visited our school and learners were delighted as they took pictures beside it.

Having worked hard for their decorations, students and staff arrived to a dreadful and nightmarish school full of spider webs, ghosts and frightful pumpkins. Everybody made a real effort to look especially petrifying: witches, zombie princesses, skeletons and bats mysteriously trick or treated around the school.

Pupils were also treated with Halloween cupcakes and gingerbread men as well as buckets of goodies kindly created and donated by Lisa Scully, one of our pupil’s mums! Thornhill Park School is now ready for a relaxing break before another fun-filled term.
