Unison Stars in our Schools

Stars in our Schools is a celebration of school support staff.

UNISON organises the day to celebrate the wonderful work they do every day and to make sure the world knows just how vital they are in supporting learners education.

On Friday 26 November 2021 Thornbeck participated in the event which provided an opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work the support staff do. Our learners surprised support staff by presenting them with personalised certificates and goody bags to say a huge thank you!

Learning about drugs and alcohol

Learners have increased their knowledge and understanding in relation to drugs and alcohol, which has had positive impact on their health and wellbeing.
Celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

On Friday 27th May learners at college participated in a range of activities to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee prior to the half term holidays.
Police Workshop

Representatives from Durham Constabulary visited the college to deliver two sessions relating to bullying and knife crime.

The theme this year the theme was loneliness, the impact of loneliness on mental health and the practical steps that can be taken to address it.
