As part of personal and social development learners participated in a range of activities supporting them to increase their knowledge and understanding of personal hygiene including:

• Identifying the importance of hair washing including the steps to follow to wash their hair and the frequency this should be completed  
• The importance of showering including the personal hygiene products and their uses and the frequency this should be completed
• Following visual instruction to demonstrate the appropriate hand washing technique, using a nail brush and nail clippers to ensure a good standard of hand hygiene

Participating in the activities has supported learners to develop their independent living skills and had a positive impact on their health and wellbeing.
