Following the Christmas break learners have been working hard to prepare the Horticulture site at Thornbeck.

Learners have worked as a team to: 

• Dig and weed the poly-tunnel in preparation for planting
• Identify items that need purchasing from the local community
• Visit the local community to make a range of session purchases
• Weed the raised beds to ensure they are ready for vegetables to be grown
• Clear and maintain the grounds by recycling the old greenhouse which was damaged by Storm Arwen.
• Wash the plant pots and hanging baskets in preparation for growing flowers

Participating in the above activities has supported the learners to develop their employability and independent living skills.
