Mackenzie Thorpe praises school named in his honour
The world renowned artist and NEAS patron praised the Mackenzie Thorpe Centre during a visit to the Middlesbrough school.
All the leaners at Mackenzie Thorpe Centre participated in a Scarecrow Competition.
They loved designing, buying materials and making their scarecrows.
Orange Class were so happy to find out this week that they were the winners! Their scarecrow was designed to look like the school’s namesake and NEAS patron Middlesbrough artist, Mackenzie Thorpe! The learners picked out clothes inspired by his outfits, made him a pallet, gave him paint brushes and even painted their own version of Mackenzie’s artwork ‘Family’.
They loved receiving their engraved trophy from their Head Teacher.
