What our Family Development Manager says...

Minecraft helped remove the social expectations that many of our young people struggle with. They were able to turn their camera off and communicate via their preferred method - creating their own safe space. That safety allowed the young people to participate in the project and look forward to each session.

James' school closed during lockdown. Lockdown reinforced his natural tendency to want to stay at home. Minecraft was a safe space where he could make friends.

Communicating with other autistic kids made him accept himself more and not look at his autism as a negative thing.
