Monthly Geography Theme - Africa
This week in class 1 we have been learning all about Africa as a part of our monthly geography theme. The children have enjoyed learning about African animals, making a safari bus, African jewellery and participating in African animal themed sensory play. These activities have increased the learners’ awareness of different countries and cultures as well as helping them to understand where and how they live in comparison to the rest of the world.
Christmas Craft Afternoon
The children had fun making different Christmas crafts. They did some gluing, sticking and painting using sponges. Using their imagination and creative skills to see what they could achieve. The results were fantastic!
Class 1 & 4 used their reading and creative skills to make Christmas hot chocolate cones to take home. I hope they enjoyed drinking them as much as they did making them!
Christmas Lunch
We all enjoyed our ‘socially distanced’ Christmas lunch, listening to some festive music and enjoying each other’s company. Class 6 made some table decorations and set up the festive tables for us to enjoy our Christmas lunch
Christmas Party
Class 1 had their Christmas party and played games such as pass the parcel and pin the nose on Rudolph. Learners had a really good time playing games together, interacting with one another and cheering for one another as they played the party games. Well done Class 1!
Food Hampers
Thank you to ‘Spread the Happiness’ for your much appreciated donations of Christmas hampers for anyone who is struggling this Christmas. We have seen some tough times and it is nice to be able to support the people who need it.
To say thank you to all of our support staff in school, our young people helped to create cards and a banner. The celebration was a surprise and the young people helped to give out well deserved certificates to members of staff, including the school’s administrator, caretaker and teaching assistants. We all celebrated celebrated with cake and everyone enjoyed the celebration.
