Society poised for trio of accolades It’s with great pride and delight that we can now announce the North East Autism Society has been shortlisted for a hattrick of prestigious awards. Announced today we are thrilled to be one of just three incredible organisations hoping to be named Charity of the Year, at the North East Charity Awards. We are also finalists in the Charity Times Awards for Campaigning Team of the Year and in the North East Marketing Awards for Not-For-Profit Campaign of the Year, for our work around autism acceptance. John Phillipson, Chief Executive Officer for the North East Autism Society, said: It goes without saying that we are humbled and honoured to even be considered for these incredible titles. It’s always wonderful when our efforts on a regional basis are acknowledged at a national level as they have been with the Charity Times awards, but for me, to be shortlisted for two separate North East awards is amazing. I’m very proud of our North East Autism Society, and thrilled that the creativity and passion instilled into our acceptance campaign has come to the attention of industry leads. Well done team NEAS. Win or lose we should all be proud of who we are and what we have achieved together. The North East Charity Awards celebrates the very best of the region’s third sector organisations, with Charity of the Year being the evening’s top honour. And there’s no doubt we will be in good company. Competing alongside the Action Foundation, an organisation dedicated to empowering refugees to overcome exclusion, and the health and wellbeing charity, Pioneering Care Partnership, the competition will be fierce. The marketing and fundraising teams are also hoping their efforts in creating our biggest and best Autism Awareness Acceptance Week to date will be enough to secure both the North East Marketing Award and the Charity Times accolade. All three awards events take place in October. Marketing manager Lisa Taylor added: I couldn’t be prouder of our team and of our colleagues in fundraising. We have stood together shoulder-to-shoulder this year producing an exceptional acceptance week campaign. Fingers crossed we will be winners on the night but regardless, we are delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists. A great achievement.
