IT is with great excitement that we can announce to you today that the North East Autism Society has been shortlisted for two prestigious North East Charity Awards.

The highlight of the charity sector year for this region, the awards ceremony, organised by the Trinity Mirror North East, will see NEAS contend for two top prizes: Uniquely North East and John Phillipson, our CEO, is in the running for Charity Leader of the Year too.

The awards’ ceremony, which will take place on September 28 in the Boiler Shop, Newcastle will see other incredible organisations like Seven Stories and St Oswald’s Hospice go head to head in our category.

In what remain incredibly challenging days for third sector organisations, the news that we are among the very best in an already outstanding region, is definitely cause for celebration.
