Throughout the summer holidays NEAS are working in partnership with the Sunderland Empire Theatre to deliver autism friendly art activities inspired by the National Theatre Production ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’.

Below is a list of art activities taking place (17th - 21st) August:



Monday 17th August, 1-4pm – Music Session

With No Limits Theatre, are offering autism friendly taster sessions in drama, dance and visual art. Go to two or more workshops and work towards an ‘Arts Award Discover’ certificate!

Tuesday 18th August, 1 – 4pm - Art Workshop

Drop in for the autism-friendly workshop every Tuesday throughout the summer holidays. There will be different activities each week.

Help us to create a giant frieze inspired by the painting A Regatta on the Grand Canal from the National Gallery.

Monday 17th to Friday 21st Aug -  ‘Curious about Devising’ 

A special five day family learning programme ran by the National Theatre and Sunderland Empire. This week long programme includes ‘Curious’ themed workshops for families, with the opportunity to meet other families and get curious about ‘devising’  theatre.
