Pathway to Independent Living
Our Pathway to Independent living is an individualised Programme for 14-19 year olds with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with an Educational Health and Care plan (EHCP).
The programmes primary aim is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of how to look after themselves, live as independently as possible in their preferred environment, and promote their social inclusion with the specialised support to do so.
This programme will usually run for four years, where individualised programmes are developed around learners EHCP outcomes to prepare them for adulthood.
The pathway intentions are to encourage the development of:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Independent living
- Community inclusion
- Health and well-being
- Personal, social and emotional development
