Courtney makes donation to short break service

Courtney, from Sixth Form at Thornhill Park School, started her fundraising project in November 2024.

She planned and organised what she would like to make in preparation for the Christmas Fete, so she could raise money to buy items to donate to her chosen setting.

Courtney made a great £90 at the Christmas Fete. When returning to school in January, Courtney made a list of all the items she would like to donate, and has been visiting different shops, such as B&M, Primark and Body care to buy all of these items.

Courtney decided she would like to donate the items to ‘Foxden’. Foxden provide outreach and short break care to children and young people.

Courtney attends Foxden, a place she really enjoys and positively talks about frequently. Courtney and her staff visited Foxden to drop off her donations. Courtney’s staff were able to have a tour of Foxden which helped them better visualize the place after Courtney frequently telling her staff stories about her time there.

It was a great experience for Courtney and her staff, and the staff at Foxden were very appreciative of Courtney choosing them to be a part of her fundraising project. Courtney received a ‘Thank You’ card from those at Foxden to thank her and to show their appreciation and gratitude.
