Babies as young as just a few weeks old can now take part in multi-award winning swimming classes with the North East Autism Society.

Held at the North East Autism Society (NEAS) Pool, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, the specialist Water Babies classes are designed to make the most of a child’s natural affinity with water - teaching confidence and safety using expert techniques.

Christine Dempster, director of education for NEAS, said:

NEAS are focused on building stronger links between the centre and local community. NEAS is not only a fantastic environment for our learners, but a hub for the local community with a range of facilities available for public hire. We are delighted to host the Water Babies swimming lessons in our pool at Newton Aycliffe.

Starting this month, the classes across Durham and Darlington are run by Penny and Paul Gordon, who were originally introduced to the concept of baby swimming through taking both their children to sessions.

We are so excited to offer even more local Water Babies and their parents the chance to bond and gain skills through swimming, when we start classes at NEAS this November.
