Join our mascot 'Pawsum the Panda' and take part in 'Walk for Autism' a 1-mile walk at Herrington Country Park, as we celebrate World Autism Awareness Month.
Registration will be open from 10am on Friday 17th April in front of the boating lake. The route follows a 1-mile route around the boating lake and waiting at the finishing point will be Pawsum the Panda who will congratulate everyone for taking part with a signed certificate.
The aim of this event is to raise awareness of autism throughout the North East. However, we welcome others to join us and make this a sponsored walk to raise funds for either ourselves, or your own charity/organisation.
We will provide our supporters with a fundraising pack which will contain fun activity sheets, sponsor forms and information about NEAS and Pawsum. The walk will be interactive and have activities for everyone to enjoy.
Event Day Schedule
10.30am: Walk starts
From 11am: Certificates given out by Pawsum (our mascot)
If after the walk you want to stay and enjoy the scenery why not bring along a picnic. There is also a café at the entrance of the park if it is a bit chilly to eat outside.
In conjunction with our Walk for Autism event we would like to invite nurseries and toddler groups in the North East to join in a 'Toddle for Autism' throughout April. This can be an organised toddle at the nursery or location of choice.
We believe that by working together we can raise the profile and awareness of autism and promote the tremendous work throughout the North East to improve the lives of families living with autism.
